Class of 1973 & 1974 Golden Reunion

On Saturday 15 June 2024, the Golden Reunion event brought together alumni from 1973 and 1974 for a night filled with nostalgia and joy.

Despite the chilly June evening, the remarkable venue of Woodlands Golf Club exuded an inviting atmosphere, where the open fire crackled warmly, complementing the sense of camaraderie and creating a cozy ambiance.

The event was attended by a diverse group of alumni, with many travelling from distant locations to join the gathering. Among them were Greg, who made the remarkable journey all the way from Perth via Uzbekistan, Christopher from Tasmania, and Alan from Ballarat.

Mentone Grammar Principal, Andy Müller addressed the attendees, reflecting on the School’s incredible journey and emphasising how the current achievements are built upon the solid foundations laid by past generations. Looking ahead, Principal Müller also shared an inspiring vision for the future, expressing confidence in the continued development and success of the School.

Jono Ponnusamy (Class of 2010 and President of the Mentonians Association) then warmly welcomed everyone, expressing deep appreciation for their presence, and extending heartfelt gratitude for their role in shaping the School’s history and future.

The Woodlands Golf Club provided the perfect backdrop for this special gathering. Its elegant ambiance and picturesque surroundings added an extra touch of grandeur to the evening.

Amidst the clinking of glasses and the sound of cheerful conversations, the atmosphere was electric with the excitement of reconnecting with long-lost friends. Smiles and warm greetings were exchanged, as the bonds of friendship were rekindled.

The Golden Reunion event was a testament to the enduring connections forged during those formative years. It was a night filled with cherished memories, laughter, and the joy of being in the company of dear friends. As the evening drew to a close, the alumni departed with hearts full of gratitude and a renewed sense of camaraderie.
