WOMEN’S 800M NATIONAL RECORD

Massive congratulations to Claudia Hollingsworth (Class of 2023) on becoming the fastest Australian woman ever over 800m!

Over the weekend at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland, Claudia stormed home in 1:57.67, setting a new national and Oceania record and finishing 5th in a world-class field.

Coached by fellow Mentonian and former Australian champion Craig Mottram (Class of 1998), Claudia was elated with the performance as she builds towards the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo next month:

“It’s pretty sick! To come down the home straight and not be sure but to look up at the big screen and see it was really exciting.”
