Punting on the big stage

Congratulations to Niall Hayes (Class of 2024) on making his NCAA debut as Louisville’s punter on 6 September 2026 at the Music City Kickoff in front of a packed crowd.

Taking on ninth-ranked Ole Miss, Niall recorded five punts for 198 yards, averaging 39.6 yards per punt.

In a thrilling contest, Ole Miss converted a 48-yard field goal as time expired to secure a 41–38 victory. Despite the result, Niall and his teammates showed they can go toe-to-toe with one of the nation’s top teams and will take plenty of confidence into the remainder of the season.

Well done Niall and we look forward to following your punting journey!
