INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2026

As Mentone Grammar continues to celebrate 20 Years of Coeducation, this year’s International Women’s Day holds particular significance for our community.

On Friday 6 March, members of our community, including students, parents, alumni and staff, came together to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026. The occasion served as a powerful reminder that when we support and empower others, we create opportunities that benefit not only individuals but entire communities.

Bringing this message to life was Australian Paralympian and adventurer Kelly Cartwright, whose remarkable story is one of courage, resilience and determination.

Kelly is a world-class athlete and trailblazer. After losing her leg to cancer at the age of 15, she went on to become a multiple world record holder and Paralympic champion. In 2009, Kelly made history as the first above-knee amputee woman to summit Mt Kilimanjaro. At the 2012 London Paralympics, she won gold in the Long Jump with a new world record and silver in the 100m. A two-time World Champion, Kelly is also an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Her powerful message of courage, excellence and resilience was truly inspiring.

We extend our sincere thanks to Kelly for her brilliant presentation, and to The Mentonians Association and Mentone Grammar Parents & Friends for their proud support of this occasion.

Together, we continue to advocate for gender equity and empower future leaders. ✨
