New Community Scholarship Launch
Education is one of the greatest equalisers, opening doors to a brighter future. As an independent school, we have the privilege and the responsibility to create life-changing opportunities for aspirational students who are unable to access a Mentone Grammar education.
With this in mind, it is with great pride that I launch the Mentone Grammar Community Scholarship – a fully funded initiative that will provide two exceptional students entering Year 9 each year with the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to our School.
This initiative has been made possible through the extraordinary generosity of a dedicated current School family whose deep connection to Mentone Grammar spans three generations. Their gift reflects our School’s commitment to investing in our students and our broader community. It also demonstrates the power of philanthropy in shaping lives and securing our School’s future.
You can find out more about this scholarship on our website and I ask you to share it with anyone in your community networks who may be eligible to apply.
A LEGACY OF SUPPORT
We know many in our alumni community share this same passion for education and the values of generosity and inclusion. When the original ‘Old Mentonians’ Society’ was formed in 1927, members introduced an annual scholarship which was funded by the alumni community until the 1950s.
The introduction of this Community Scholarship reflects that culture of giving and an invitation for our alumni community to once again lead with generosity and continue building a legacy of positive impact for future Mentonians.
To support this, we are introducing an Annual Giving Day in 2025 that will support this scholarship in perpetuity, as well as the important development of our facilities, with an immediate focus on Keysborough.
I look forward to sharing more in the coming months about how you can be part of this exciting initiative. Together, we are shaping bright futures.
Best wishes,
Andy Müller
